Chronology of cameras Mamiya

6x7cm format professional camera (in fact: 56 X 69.5 mm) using  the film 120 (10 views) or 220 (20 views).

This is a complete camera system with a range of 8 bayonet mount lenses ranging from the semi fish-eye 37 mm presented here to the 360 mm.and fitted with a central mechanical shutter and T Bulb offering B and T speeds and the second to 1 / 400th.

The use of a cable release is of course possible and the mirror can be put in upper position in advance to avoid blur images caused by vibrations. The focusing is by rack and pinion and bellows. The extension can go up to 46 mm.

This camera could receive numerous accessories destined to the industrial and scientific photography: magnifying and prism viewfinders with or without a CDS cell, several types of back and magazines, extension tubes, etc ...

The possibility of using  this medium format horizontally or vertically rectangular format by simply rotating the  back by 1/4 turn also makes the camera as bulky as a 7x7 cm format! and its place is rather in the studio or on a tripod. Yet in hand and used for industrial reportage, it produced images allowing big enlargements.

As successor of the RB 67, it appeared in 1970. It differs mainly by its magazine backs that avoid unwanted overprints. Still, between each view, shutter cocking and winding of the film are not synchronized and require two distinct actions: First : reset - reopening of the shutter synchronized with lowering of the mirror by means of the lever on the right of the body and, secondly, film advance to the next view using the lever on the magazine. The cell of the CDS prism makes the TTL  but not automatic measurement: after film sensitivity and nominal aperture of the lens are set, turn the setting ring to align a needle with an index. Then read the diaphragm/speed values and adjust them ??on the lens accordingly. Even though it is a bit rustic, this measure is far more accurate than that of an independent cell.
